The practice of Meryl Levy moves between painting, sculpture, and
sculptural furniture, which she approaches as a single field rather than
separate mediums.
She works with materials that show transformation often found or
self-produced and keeps their imperfections visible. By reworking and
displacing them, she is interested in breaking their expected role and
creating a sense of ambiguity.
The work sits in that in-between space: not fully functional, not
entirely abstract.
